Beginners 5K
Who’s this for?: Beginning runners interested in finishing their first 5K.
Where are you now?: You should be able to run continuously for 1 + miles. You are getting out for jog/walks 2-3 times a week. All paces welcome.
What will you learn?: How to build your endurance and stamina to run 3.1 miles without stopping. You will have weekly runs build their distance progressively and weekly workouts focusing on improving running economy and injury prevention.

Intermediate 5K
Who’s this for?: Runners with experience running 5K’s who wish to improve their speed and performance over this distance.
Where are you now?: You have been averaging 15-20+ miles a week for the 4 weeks leading up to the training program. You are able to run 6+ miles in a single run without soreness or excessive difficulty.
What will you learn?: You will learn to develop your strength and speed for improved performance in the 5K. You will see your average speed on training runs and race times improve with the development of your endurance and 5K specific 'speed work'. Specifically you will improve your aerobic power through the ability to train and race at a higher percentage of your maximum oxygen utilization. You will have weekly group long runs build your distance progressively and weekly speed workouts focusing on improving running economy, developing resistance to injury and improving speed over the 5K distance.
